Is virginity a thing of the past already for Filipinas?

I don't understand why a woman's virginity or lack of, should be anyones business. That's a personal issue that only concerns her, and it has nothing to do with being liberated. The most important thing is that she use some form of birth control. I saw a picture from Manila posted in the LA Times, of people actually digging through garbage in a city dump looking for discarded food. The last thing these people need is more mouths to feed.
