Stopped drinking beer but not losing weight?

I stopped drinking beer through the week a few weeks ago wanting to shed some pounds off the ole gut. I will have a couple on Friday/Sat. As I have completely stopped drinking through the week (2-3/night), I haven't seen any weight coming off. I do drink "MUCHO" water through the day, but still not seeing results. I am not a poor eater as I eat 3 meals a day and hardly ever snack between meals. Any suggestions or thoughts why I haven't lost any of this excess weight from beer?
