Try Miralax (not the same as Metamucil, which is fiber), a powder formulation laxative, now available over the counter, that you mix into liquids such as water or juice. May take 2-4 days to work, but it's gentle on your system and typically does not cause 'urgency'. If you are still having problems, see your doctor, as you may need to be sure that you don't have an obstruction.
